Marie-Claire O'Donoghue

BA, MC, CCC
Counselling Psychotherapist
Qualifying Dance/Movement Therapist (with the ADTA)

Marie-Claire is a Canadian Certified Counsellor, and a Dance/Movement Therapist Intern (with the ADTA). She is a creative, intuitive, personable woman who approaches mental health and well-being from a body-based, somatic perspective.

Through her work with individuals across the life span with diverse developmental capacities, she understands the value of movement as a tool for emotional and mental well being.

Through her work, individuals have an opportunity to connect with themselves from an embodied perspective, and gain a deeper experiential understanding of the mind-body connection.

Marie-Claire weaves her advanced counselling education with a vast array of dance/movement therapy training, bridging the gap between mind and body, spirit and psyche. Marie-Claire works with individuals of all ages, with experience in developmental disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, and emotional self-inquiry.

I acknowledge that I live, work, and play on the land traditionally known as Mohkinstis - the meeting place - which is home to the Blackfoot Nations of Siksika, Pikani, and Kainai people, the Tsu Tina, the Stoney Nakoda Nations of Bearspaw, Wesley, and Chiniki, as well as the Metis people of region 3.

I am honoured to be a guest born to this land and acknowledge the privileged position I hold based on my ancestry - I am grateful and humbled.

Marie-Claire pursues continuous clinical supervision and consultation for her work as a Dance/Movement Therapist Intern Dr. Christina Devereaux, PHD, LMHC, LCAT, BC-DMT, NCC.
